This Bus Ride is 5-7 Minutes From the Silver Spring Metro.
Take the Metro to Silver Spring Metro Stop which is the Red Line. Take the Number 16 Ride On Bus. Make sure you tell the bus driver that you are going to East Silver Spring School at 631 Silver Spring Avenue. The bus will let you off on Sligo Ave. which runs parallel to Silver Spring Avenue. Get off of the #16 bus at the Madison Apartments at 700 Sligo Ave. It's near the intersection of Sligo Ave. and Carrol LANE. From the Bus Stop cross Sligo Ave. Walk one block on Carrol LANE to Silver Spring Ave. Make a right on to Silver Spring Ave. East Silver Spring School is on your left. Enter door adjacent to the parking lot. The Ride On Bus number 20 also takes you near the school, but it lets you off at another location.
Go South on Georgia Avenue. Pass 2nd light (Ellsworth Drive), Pass 3rd light (Wayne Avenue), Pass 4th light (Bonifant Street), Pass 5th light (Thayer Avenue). The next light is Silver Spring Avenue. Make a left on to Silver Spring Avenue. You will pass Fenton Street (at a traffic light). Pass 2 stop signs (through a residential area). Make a left into the school parking lot. The class is at East Silver Spring School. Enter the side door that is near the parking lot. Follow signs.
Take Georgia Avenue into Maryland. Continue on Georgia Avenue and go under the Metro Train Bridge. The first light after the train bridge is Sligo Avenue. The second light is Silver Spring Avenue. Make a right turn on to Silver Spring Avenue (there’s a flowershop at that intersection). Continue on Silver Spring Avenue. You will pass Fenton Street (at a traffic light). Pass 2 stop signs (through a residential area). Make a left into the school parking lot. It’s at East Silver Spring School. Enter the side door that’s near the parking lot. Follow signs.
Take the Silver Spring Exit onto Georgia Avenue going South. Pass Colesville Road (major intersection). The second traffic light after Colesville Road is Ellsworth Drive. Pass 3rd light (Wayne Avenue), Pass 4th light (Bonifant Street), Pass 5th light (Thayer Avenue). The next light is Silver Spring Avenue. Make a left on to Silver Spring Avenue. You will pass Fenton Street (at a traffic light). Pass 2 stop signs (through a residential area). Make a left into the school parking lot. The class is at East Silver Spring School. Enter the side door that is near the parking lot. Follow signs.
